“tumblr-backup is a Python tool that backs up your Tumblr blog locally as HTML files, preserving all your posts, images, and media. It creates a beautiful, browsable archive of your blog that you can view offline.”
Need to try this. I also downloaded an official Tumblr archive but I haven’t opened it to see how reusable it is.

What is a Hitching Post on Pillowfort?and some examples. Reminds me of a week in review. Answers questions such as ‘what happened that week in your circle? What conversations did you have?’
Apart from conversations, I would also share any new folks I followed and why. The format of Coy’s examples also reminded me of reading a newspaper. Something like, ‘on this weeks news…’ insert bullet point list of events.

Need to add two new RSS feeds from new Pfio folks to my reader:

Clearly I don’t know what Netlify is truly capable of. Apparently it has a serverless feature. Will use this guide of sorts a Mastodon mutual wrote to set up a microblog endpoint on my site.
Edit: Masto moot shared a repo with some pretty good documentation on how to implement a serverless micropub with Netlify.
Do I want to see whether I have all the piece set up a microblog on my site? I don’t wanna know just yet (ง ื▿ ื)ว

Project Idea: Handcoded h-card replace pronouns.cc page
h-card - Microformats Wiki. Of all of this microformats thing, I think an h-card would be the easiest to implement considering my skill level 🤔. Not sure where to add it on my site though. Perhaps I could merge it with my nebulous idea of replacing my pronouns.cc with something handmade. An h-card looks like the same thing. #MaryLinks #MaryCodes Continue reading →

IndieWebify.Me - a guide to getting you on the IndieWeb.
Managed to set up webmentions on my site while my microblog supports and micropub. I guess I could add webmentions to the latter but the idea isn’t too appealing right now. The site was super useful!

Building a Web Version of Your Mastodon Archive with Eleventy. While the AI-generated image of a cat offends me, the topic of the post is of great interest to me.
The .zip file Mastodon spits out holds a file with toots which is not markup so it can’t just be displayed on a browser (I think). This is one of the many ways to make that archive browser-friendly (I think).

Matrix vs. Discord is an article from the Matrix official site comparing the two products. Due to the nature of its creator, it’s unlikely to be unbiased towards Matrix. Nevertheless, I am saving it for a later read to learn more about how it works.

Discord Alternatives: My Personal Deep Dive into Matrix, Zulip, Discourse, and Stoat is a blog post from mauvehed.
I was doing a deep dive on Discord alts on the second week of February when Discord sent an announcement it would implement identity verification. This is one of the many blog posts I read on the topic and of the few I remembered to save.

The section on title for microblog RSS feeds is so true! I have some feeds from people who microblog and my RSS does display a lack of title as
[NO TITLE]which is quite unpleasant to look at. As a user I would rather see no place holder aka the section is just empty.
